Sweet Lou gave the hitters a pep-talk before the game and they responded by scoring 9 runs in the game and the hitters responded by scoring 9 runs. Fontenot and Soriano both homered in the win.

Chad Gaudin did a great job today. Samardzija managed to lower his ERA to 6.75. Kevin Gregg is giving Carlos Marmol a run for the closer's job, he still hasn't allowed a run all spring. If I had to guess though, I'd say Marmol is still Lou's closer to start the year.

• Not a lot of rumors lately, but the Cubs could make a few tweaks before the end of camp. Remember, Jim added Reed Johnson last year towards the end of Spring Training.
